Group’s programme of inspiring sustainability talks and presentations are open to the public at its showcase space
The Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo is celebrating Earth Day by inviting visitors to make a pledge to protect the Earth.
The world-renowned attraction is participating for the third consecutive year in the initia-tive that aims to raise awareness on the need to take concrete action to protect the environment.
Visitors can write down a promise they are willing to make for Earth Day, on the Under-water Zoo entrance wall screen.
Last year’s pledges included: “From today onwards, I promise to turn off all lights and electronic ap-pliances before leaving my house”; “I promise to turn off the water while brushing my teeth”, and “I will reduce the use of air conditioning when I am not home,” amongst others.
The activity aims to strengthen public awareness on the key environmental chal-lenges faced by humanity today and inspire visitors to become active partners in the efforts to manage climate change.
Located in The Dubai Mall, Dubai Aquari-um & Underwater Zoo is one of the largest and most diverse indoor aquariums in the world with tens of thousands of aquatic animals, and presents daily talks on the planet’s diversity in different ecological zones.
