B-Boy Lil Zoo, from Morocco, took home the top title after a spectacular performance against 15 other contestants. Following his victory, Lil Zoo said, “This is a great moment in my life; I am proud that I will be representing my country as well as the entire region in the world’s finals.”

The Red Bull BC One regional qualifier was the first one to unite competitors from the Middle East and Africa in one unique battle, and although dancers from the two distinct regions were excited about the opportunity to meet, share and learn from each other, the rivalry was tangible throughout the days preceding the competition.

The 16 contestants spent the last two days together exploring Marrakesh and its surroundings, jet skiing on ‘Lac Takerkouse’, exploring the legendary market of Jamaa el FNA, and enjoying a magical evening at Chez Ali with delicious Moroccan food and a spectacular traditional Fantasia horse show.

Commenting with excitement, B-Boy Bright from Ghana said: “This is my first time in Morocco and I love it. The people here are really friendly and they show respect to all .”

“Morrocco has a lively B-Boy scene that started in the beginning of the 90s in Casablanca,” said local B-Boy Yoriyas. “Until today, half of the B-Boys live in Casablanca with the rest scattered all over the country. Today, with an event like the Red Bull BC One, we are finally getting the recognition that we need and that will help to grow the scene and inspire a whole new generation of B-Boys in the country.”

Red Bull has been hosting riveting regional breaking battles since 2010, and for the first time, this year sees it is reaching a global stage with the acclaimed Red Bull BC One international contest just months away.
