O’Brien eyes third title

DUBLIN - Aidan O’Brien-trained Steinbeck heads a six-strong team from the powerful stables in the chase for the Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas (Gr-1), Ireland first Classic of the new season on Saturday. The race holds a total purse of euro325,000.

Steinbeck will face tough competition to keep the Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas at home with both Canford Cliffs and Xtension among the British trained contenders declared to run in the Abu Dhabi Irish 2000 Guineas. Other notable runners among the 13 declared for the first Irish Group 1 Classic race of the season include the Tommy Stack trained Noll Wallop, Oasis Dancer trained in Britain by Ralph Beckett, Keredari trained by John Oxx and the Jim Bolger trained Free Judgment.
