“The race was different. Frankie settled keenly at the tail of the small field and when the pace setter Mary Fields began to widen the gap, I was truly worried, but Barzalona came out to her and saved the situation,” Godolphin’s trainer Mahmoud Al Zarooni said.
Regarding the next target for the filly, Al Zarooni said that there’s nothing on the table for her, but she will go back to Europe and there they will decide what should come next.

Frankie Dettori gave top weight Capponi all assistant needed to kick away from the pack to sprint home unchallenged in the 1900m Swaidan Trading Company-Goodyear Handicap opening race on the card.
Navajo Chief, who won the Best Turned Out horse trophy in the Paddock, went on to show the way in the early stages under Kieren Fallon, but soon went out of gas and gave way to the traffic from behind. Capponi who was perfectly poised in second took over and went lengths clear to emerge the easiest of winners on the line.
Dettori completed a quick double after partnering Burano to glory in the 1600m Meydan Classic, the third race on the card for trainer Brian Meehan. “It was a good effort. It was a tough race and Burano proved to be very brave,” the Italian-born jockey said later.
In the second race, a 2200m Handicap, was won by Jamr in the hands and heels of regular partner Patrick Cosgrave for owner Shaikh Mansour bin Mohammed Al Maktoum and trainer Mubarak bin Shafya. Michael Barzalona who got up late with public favourite Spring Of Fame was a neck back in second place and behind them came Honour System, ridden by Sivestre De’Souza.
Top sprinter Nocturnal Affair reversed places with earlier conquerors under Ryan Moore to win the 1000m Al Naboodah Construction Group Handicap ahead of the mount of William Buick, Monsieur Joe and Inexile, ridden by Adrian Nicholls. City Style, was eased by Mickael Barzalona to an exciting victory in the final event of the night, a 1800 metres turf contest.
