The eight-year-old veteran son of Elusive Quality has been narrowly beaten by Five Cents last month after he cruised to his first victory of the season under regular partner Richard Mullen over distance and course a couple of months ago. The mount of Wayne Smith Youm Mutamaiez, a twice winner over distance and course could pose a threat should the Seeking The Gold horse manage to appreciate the jump in class and weight.

Ali Rashid Al Raihe’s three-years-old duo, Noor Zabeel, under apprentice jockey Saeed A Mazrooie, and Factory Time, partnered by Silvestre De’Souza, could trouble front runners should they handle the surface on which they race for the first time.

William Buick reunites with Mulaqat as the nine-year-old son of former champion Singspiel renews rivalry against Mushreq, Zain Shamardal and Submariner in the 1950m Emirates Airline Handicap fourth race on the card. Having beaten the trio on two different occasions over distance and course, he will be facing a tougher opposition this time out and his job to be a little bit difficult but not a mission impossible. And if we applied the science of handicapping, Mushreq will be the one to beat under retiring jockey Richard Hills.

Top Irish jockey Patrick Cosgrave teams up with trainer Rashed Al Bouresly to ride Amazon River in the opening race of the afternoon, a 1950 metres contest sponsored by Commercial Bank of Dubai. The five-year-old son of Dalakhani has never run a bad race at Jebel Ali and was only unlucky as he finished a short-head behind Tesslam over the same trip and track last February, and he must strike should he manage to reproduce the same effort in today’s test.

In the fourth race, a 1400m Al Shafar Investment Handicap, Daboos should reverse places with earlier conqueror Kessraa and do the better work ahead of Jebel Ali debutant Alnashmy under Wayne Smith.

Meanwhile, the time has come for Cool Wind to break the maiden in the fifth race on the card.

Green Beret, Royston FFrench up, would be hard to beat in the final race, a 1200m Al Shafar Group Handicap.
