More than 330,000 students in the UAE received interactive education under the ‘My Health is in my Hands’ campaign to learn the importance of effective hand-washing to combat the spread of infections. During 2013, Dettol’s ‘Mission for Health’ campaign delivered interactive hygiene education to over two million families across the Middle East.

Over 183,000 new mothers in the UAE were provided with facts, figures, tips and tools that would help them make educated choices on how to protect themselves and their new-born children from germs and infections.

The campaign collaborated with the Ministry of Health in the UAE to educate travellers about the importance of personal hygiene to avoid the spread of illnesses and infections during the Hajj pilgrimage. Over 10,000 travellers received key tips for staying healthy during Hajj from a team of specialised health educators.

Refik Oner, category director for Dettol, Reckitt Benckiser Middle East, said: “Working with the Arab Hygiene Council, Ministry of Education, and Ministry of Health, our objective for 2014 is to continue to build on the fundamentals of our grass-roots health and hygiene education programme, and substantially expand the reach of our new moms and school education programmes across the region.”
