Dr Sajid Burud, managing director of Medstar, said: "Our expansion plans are already in place and our stakeholders have committed for a $100 million capital to support our long-term vision in adding more day surgery centers in the coming years. Also we are planning to have similar centres in all the emirates."

Currently Medstar has tied up with six insurance firms and is in the process of getting 10 more insurance providers on board by year-end. The centre has also tied up with leading hospitals for the emergency purposes covering insured as well as non-insured patients.

"Medstar Day Surgery Centre has adopted the emerging model of developed countries -- day care surgery with outpatient consultation. The UAE healthcare industry is estimated at Dh50 billion by end of 2015 and is expected to reach Dh66 billion by 2020," said Rameche Kannan, finance director, Medstar.

Medstar is in line with the emirate's vision to attract 500,000 more medical tourists a year by 2020. In the first six months of 2015, Dubai witnessed 260,000 medical tourism visitors and made Dh1 billion in revenue off medical tourism.

Our healthcare providers work with the passion and commitment to provide focused patient centric care.
