Health camp throws in tips on 
road safety in Dubai

Over 450 workers were benefited by a health and safety awareness programme and a free medical camp conducted by Aster DM Healthcare jointly with Al Ghandi Auto group at their staff quarters in Al Muhaisinah (Sonapur), Dubai recently.

Workers living in and around the location availed the benefits of free health services and safety awareness sessions offered by Access and Aster doctors. The camp sought to teach them the importance of following a healthy lifestyle and safety rules in everyday life. Muraleedharan K, Labour, Welfare and Community Affairs Consul at the consulate general of India in Dubai, inaugurated the camp.

Dr Dhaval Anil Rasal, urologist, Aster Qusais, gave a talk on kidney stones and Dr Rajeev Surendranath, psychiatrist, Aster Jubilee Medical Complex, Bur Dubai, on stress management at the day-long camp. A large panel of specialists from Aster offered free consultation to the attendees.

Participants also availed of free checkups for blood pressure, body mass index and blood sugar levels and were provided with free medicines. In addition, they were instructed how to maintain a balanced and nutritious diet.

The health and safety awareness sessions covered Aster DM Healthcare’s ongoing health and safety campaigns that focus on road safety tips, actions to be taken during critical emergency situations, basic life support and first-aid lessons.

Workers were told about the adverse effects of tobacco and how the habit could be kicked.
