The Jumeirah-based health provider, a 40-bed, premier neuroscience facility, also confirmed that it will be signing an agreement with one of Dubai’s largest health providers this month to cover high-risk neurological cases from entities such as the UAE governmental hospitals, Abu Dhabi and Dubai Police, Emirates airline and American Hospital Dubai,

Aside from these, NSH will also have patients coming from outside the country, such as Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, Africa and other places in the region.

“We try to cooperate rather than compete,” NSH said. “We have a first-mover advantage and have been able to establish, in a relatively short period of time, an excellent reputation.”

NSH recently introduced urology, adding to its world-class portfolio of health specialties. Dr Ramiz Atassi, a urological surgeon with a combined 29 years of experience in Saudi Arabia and Spain, will be at the forefront of NSH’s new offering. The hospital, whilst being known as a spine specialist centre, is confident that its aforementioned strategy will help attract urology patients, on top of other brand-awareness campaigns such as direct marketing, conferences, corporate deals and the media.

Meanwhile, NSH will be organising the 13th Dubai Spine Conference from May 1 to 3. Building on the success of last year’s edition that attracted over 350 participants from the region, the hospital is keen that the 2012 meet is even be better.

“Spreading knowledge has become an essential part of our corporate identity and NSH organises many conferences, the most prominent being the Dubai Spine Conference,” it said. “Leaders from around the world are brought to share their patient experiences and techniques. Thereby, community awareness is raised through education and discussions.”
