1,903 emergency calls during N-Day celebrations

Out of this, 50 came from callers reporting about accidents at shopping centres during the five-day celebrations.



A report released by the Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services (DCAS) revealed that it received as many as 1,903 emergency calls during the UAE National Day celebrations in Dubai to report about various kinds of ailments and incidents.

Executive Director of the DCAS Khalifa Al Drai said the centre had been prepared to tackle all sorts of accidents. Well-equipped ambulances were stationed near shopping malls.

Al Drai added that The Dubai Mall was on top in terms of the number of incidents with 38 reports received mostly for diabetic and heart patients as well as sick children.

The Mall of the Emirates came second with six calls while one call each came from Wafi Centre and Marina Mall.

The incidents ranged from minor illnesses like headache, vomiting, dizziness and fever to critical cases like heart attacks.
