The Dubai Fitness Challenge officially kickstarts today.
The buzz is loud and clear in Dubai as residents woke up to SMS from Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council.
"I challenge you to join the Dubai Fitness Challenge," the SMS from Sheikh Hamdan read.
Mobile network providers Du also changed their network names to #ChallengeAccepted on Friday morning.

Other brand and corporate names jumped on the fitness challenge bandwagon:
Few residents took to social media to share the update online.
From today, residents across the UAE will be able to benefit from a host of free outdoor activities, fitness sessions and gym classes as the city welcomes the Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) for the second year.
For those with a penchant for fitness; and even those without, the goal to dedicate 30 minutes of activity a day for 30 days doesn't require a month-long slog at the gym.
As the Dubai Fitness Challenge makes an energetic comeback today for not only the young in age but also for the young at heart, a number of participants who took part in the challenge last year confess how the 30-day challenge had a transformative effect on their lives and turned from couch potatoes to health freaks.
