Hail Hailee the triple threat!

Having made her mark on young Hollywood, the super talented Hailee Steinfeld is graduating into the league of A-list actress and singer. What we love about Hailee is that despite her diverse range of talents we aren't bombarded with her in the media - her personal life is pretty private allowing us to bask and enjoy her many talents. That's rare from someone in young Hollywood today. Hailee has so much going on but we really wanted to highlight one of her latest films The Edge of Seventeen where she plays the role of Nadine. The film and Hailee's performance has received a lot of critical acclaim. It got us curious about Hailee and we went on a mission to find out as much as we could about the super talented performer.

California Girl
Hailee is a California girl all the way through! She was born in Tarzana, California. Her father is a personal fitness trainer while her mom is an interior designer. Hailee is of Romanian and Russian Jewish ancestry. Her grandfather was also of Filipino descent, while her grandmother was English, German, and Irish. What a mix!

Young Actress
When Hailee's first cousin appeared in a television commercial when Hailee was eight- years-old, it inspired her to get into acting as well. And we are pretty glad that she did! And she was serious! Right after she finished fifth grade, her parents made the decision to homeschool her. Why? So she could work on her career and it definitely paid off!

True Grit
When Hailee was 13 she landed the role of Mattie Ross in True Grit which massively propelled her career. For her role, Hailee was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role, and the BAFTA Award for Best Actress in a Leading Role. Wow! And since then Hailee has appeared in a number of films that have gained her a lot of attention including Ender's Game, Romeo & Juliet, Begin Again, 3 Days to Kill, Pitch Perfect 2 and The Edge of Seventeen, for which she received a Golden Globe Award nomination.

Musical Talent
After appearing in Pitch Perfect 2 alongside Anna Kendrick and Rebel Wilson where she sang Flashlight - she released a cover version of the song and was later signed to Republic Records! Since then Hailee released her debut single, Love Myself, which was certified platinum in several countries and in 2016, she released Starving, a collaboration with both Grey and Zedd, which peaked at number 12 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.

Model Perfect
As if acting and music weren't enough, Hailee has also had some pretty impressive modelling gigs. She was the youngest face ever for fashion house Miu Miu, when she was just 14, and has done modelling work for Nike, GAP, and Kohl's. Hailee was also part of Taylor Swift's hit music video Bad Blood and is part of Swifty's squad. Despite that, we still love you Hailee!
