DUBAI - Worshippers in Rashidiya, Nad Al Hamar, Nad Shama and Al Warqa in Dubai will be able to perform their Eid prayers in a newly constructed musallah (a place used for Eid prayers) this year, thanks to Dubai Municipality (DM).
The civic body yesterday announced that construction of the Nad Al Hamar Musallah will be completed by Eid Al Fitr.
The musallah, which will have a built-in area of 30,000 square metres, includes separate sections for men and women. The men’s section can accommodate 10,250 people at a time and the women’s section 2,805 people. DM’s Acting Director, Engineer Husain Nasir Lootah, said the Dh5.7-million project was undertaken because the old musallah of Al Rashidiya was demolished for Dubai Metro project.
