Al Rashid is leading a Kuwaiti parliamentary delegation which is on a three-day visit to the UAE.
During the meeting, Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed highlighted the depth of the fraternal and historic bonds between the UAE and Kuwait and lauded the bilateral constructive cooperation under the GCC umbrella.
He said the visit of the Kuwaiti delegation reflected the long-standing relations of fraternity and and intimacy.
We are always looking forward for such a visit which will strengthen bonds of fraternity between the GCC peoples,” he said, wishing Kuwait further progress and prosperity.
The meeting explored ways of boosting bilateral ties in all spheres. The two sides also exchanged views on the current events and developments on the regional and international scenes and on a broad range of issues of mutual concern.
Earlier in the day, Al Rashid called on the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, at Al Rawda Palace in Al Ain.
In a statement carried by the Kuwaiti news agency (KUNA) on the occasion of his visit, Al Rashid hailed the UAE’s firm position towards his country during its occupation, referring to the historic role of the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, who supported the Kuwaiti rights and affirmed that invasion of the country is prejudicing the whole GCC. —
