Shariah court issues mass verdicts against 30 suspects

The court has sentenced 10 suspects for their involvement in burglaries; three of them were sentenced to one year in jail, two were ordered three years in jail, two were sentenced to six months in jail.

Sharjah: The Sharjah shariah court of first instance issued 33 court verdicts against 30 suspects involved in 15 cases during a court hearing. The hearing was chaired by judge Hussien Al Asoofi.

The court has sentenced 10 suspects for their involvement in burglaries; three of them were sentenced to one year in jail, two were ordered three years in jail, two were sentenced to six months in jail.

An Asian suspect was charged with murder and theft and was ordered to pay blood money to the victim’s family. He was also sentenced to one year in jail on the charges of adultery and ordered to be deported after his jail term.

The court also sentenced six suspects to jail, with their jail terms varying from six months to one year, for adultery. Six others were given jail terms varying between three and four years for their involvement in drug cases.

The shariah court also sentenced a man and a woman to six months in jail on the charges of forgery, and also ordered 80 lashes to an accused, identified as A.S. on the charges of insulting and abusing.
