Shaikh Mohammed attends opening of WEF 2012

In his opening statement on behalf of the UAE, H. H. Shaikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy ruler of Dubai, welcomed the UAE guests and thanked them for accepting the invitation to participate in this global event which is held for the first time outside the United Nations headquarters in New York.

‘One and half billion people out of seven billions around the world are deprived of the electric energy, which represents a massive challenge for us, and we should all face this through cooperation and coordination among all the advanced and developing countries’ he said.

The three-day event is held to boost the international cooperation and exchange of expertise to ensure safe and clean sustainable energy, which would achieve economic and social welfare for the people.
