The discussions during a meeting with the Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif dealt with the ways to resolve the issue of the Iranian occupation of the UAE’s three islands of the Greater and Lesser Tunb and Abu Musa. They also exchanged views on regional issues.
The UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs also met with the Foreign Ministers of Ireland, Eamonn Gilmore, of India, Salman Khurshid, and of Malaysia, Dato’ Sri Anifah bin Haji Aman. Discussions were centred on the promotion of bilateral co-operation, especially in the diplomatic, economic, culture, tourism fields, and ways to promote investment opportunities in these countries.

Views were also exchanged on developments on the regional and international arenas, particularly the Syrian crisis and the developments of the internal situation in Egypt.

Shaikh Abdullah also discussed his forthcoming visit to Ireland in November, with his Irish counterpart. Both Ministers expressed their satisfaction with the level of development of relations between the two countries in recent years, especially in the field of diplomatic relations.
