The ceremony was attended by Humaid Mohammed Obadi Al Qattami, Minister of Education, and Lieutenant-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of the Dubai Police, who is also the Chairman of Emirates Association of the Talented.
Lt-Gen Dhahi Khalfan lauded the intellectual and educational standards of UAE citizens. He also praised their competitiveness and said the participation of a large number of boy and girl students of secondary schools as well as students with special needs in the competition is a good step for creating a new generation of young scientists, who could contribute to their country and serve the needs of national development.
Forty of the 450 contestants were declared winners in various categories, including mathematics, chemistry, physics and biology.
