Khalifa Foundation covers expenses for deportation of 304 prisoners
The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation has pledged to cover the expenses for the deportation of 304 pardoned inmates from different nationalities to their home countries.
The pardoned prisoners were serving jail terms to be followed by deportation and could not afford to pay for their return tickets.
In its statement, the Foundation said the humanitarian gesture coincides with the advent of the Holy Month of Ramadan, adding that the Foundation assists this process in coordination with the Ministry of Interior.
The Foundation has provided tickets for 428 pardoned prisoners from different nationalities over the last 12 months.
