The list containing 930 names will pave the way for issuing orders for their naturalisation as per the rules and regulations of the country.

The commision had ratified the list submitted earlier by the Ministry of Interior at a meeting held at the Presidential Palace. The meeting chaired by Ahmed Juma Al Zaabi, Deputy Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Commission, was attended by representatives from the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, the Supreme Council for National Security, the National Security Authority and the Ministry of Interior.

The commission had assigned the Interior Ministry to prepare the list of various segments and submit a final list of eligible persons. The list is presented to the Ministry of Presidential Affairs, which will submit its recommendations to the President for issuing naturalisation decrees.

Earlier in February, Shaikh Khalifa had issued federal decrees granting citizenship to 1,117 eligible children born to Emirati mothers as per the Presidential Ordinance.
