Flags in Dubai will fly at half mast for 10 days from today as a mark of respect for the late Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, who passed away earlier today.

Work at government departments and institutions in the Emirate will be suspended for three days, starting tomorrow, Thursday, March 25.

Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid was the longest serving UAE minister.

The brother of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan played an indispensable role in developing financial policies and government ‎spending.
