World-class show lined up for DWC

DUBAI - To class entertainment and hospitality have been lined up for the The Dubai World Championship, presented by DP World, from December 8 to 11 at the Jumeirah Golf Estates.

The region’s most prestigious golf event will have activities on the schedule for spectators of all ages.

To attend the event one has to follow the signs from Al Khail Road and the Green Community roundabout.

A media release adds: The top 60 players on The European Tour will be battling it out on the Earth course in the final event of The Race to Dubai.

Away from the fairways, the lineup includes everything from rock band Suburban Voodoo and premier party band The Maplejacks, both back by popular demand, to entertaining trick shots from renowned artist David Edwards, complimentary golf lessons, simulators, ShortGolf for kids, chill-out zones, and an overwhelming choice of food and beverages.

The Championship Village will provide a haven for friends to socialise, follow the action on a giant screen, relax in bean bag chairs and hammocks, and indulge in mouthwatering food and beverages.

The Left Bank, adjacent to the 17th hole, promises to be the hot spot of the event, bringing fans up close and personal to witness some of the best golfers in the world, as they bid for a share of the combined $15 million prize purse.

New to the event this year, ShortGolf provides a playground for the little ones, where colourful oversized clubs, soft balls and innovative “sticky” targets combine teaching and learning cues to help youngsters get to grips with the basics of golf. The Kids’ Zone at the Dubai World Championship will have plenty to keep children and parents happy.

Adults are not forgotten with complimentary golf lessons from professional instructors available for amateurs as well as serious golfing enthusiasts who want to take their technique to the next level and the ‘Nearest Pin Challenge’, a state of the art golf simulator for all aspiring golfers intent on improving their game.

Shuttle bus service and taxi pickup will be provided throughout each day to make the event hassle free, with drop-offs every afternoon to Arabian Ranches, Barasti, Bidi Bondi, Green Community, Ibn Battuta Gate Metro, Motor City, Nasimi Beach and Wafi; the ‘Greatest Show on Earth’ is just a short drive from any Dubai location.

The official radio partner for The Dubai World Championship presented by DP World is Dubai Eye 103.8 will present updates, as the station will broadcasts live from the event.
