The tournament, now in its 15th year, will also mark the start of the Indian Golfers Society’s calendar of event for the season. The society intends to organise four to five tournaments this year besides arranging some overseas trips for its members.

“We are delighted with the overwhelming response to the tournament and that’s a clear reflection on the popularity of the event,” said KJ Singh, chairman of the Indian Golfers Society (IGS). “I am sure there will be a great sense of camaraderie among the members when they battle it out for honours,” he added.

“The very intention behind forming the society was to provide healthy competitions to golfers in a relaxed atmosphere,” says Singh, adding: “The society’s events also play a role in building a business referral network while learning, playing and improving our golf skills.”

Attributing the success of the society to an unflinching support from members and sponsors, he said: “We welcome Samira Habitats for joining our family of trusted sponsors which includes Chivas, AGMC, Kohinoor rice, Bank of Baroda, Air Arabia and BDO.”

Sameer Nerurkar of Samira Habitats thanked the managing committee of IGS, saying: “This is an ideal platform for us to build relationships with our potential clients. Our high-end property portfolio fits with the ambitions of IGS members,” he added.

The tournament will follow the individual stableford format.
