Festival flavour for ND golf
DUBAI - The UAE National Day golf tournament, featuring a full 100-player field, will have a festive flavour to it when it gets under way at the Yas Links Abu Dhabi on Thursday, December 1, with a 12 noon shot gun start.
Sponsored by the National Marine Dredging Company for the four year in a row, the tournament is organised by the Emirates Golf Federation as part of the 40th National Day celebrations in the UAE.
The annual event, which is open to all UAE nationals and residents amateurs holding a valid UAE handicap, will follow the team betterball stableford.
Last year, the foursome comprising Burhan Mohamed, Huzaifa Mohamed, Abizher Mohamed and S. Srinivasan won the event with an impressive team score of 102 points, beating the team of Paul Mercer, Anne Brett Mercer, James Carrigy, Maria Carrigy by a good nine points.
