Dubai Sports City to Host Haiti Relief Event

DUBAI - Dubai Sports City will be hosting a special golf fundraising event and afternoon family day on February 27 at The Els Club to help raise funds in support of the victims of Haiti’s devastating earthquake, a press release said.

The charity golf event will see 144amateur golfers compete for sponsor-donated prizes, followed by an afternoon family day open to the general public and an auction, which includes flights, golf holidays, and sport memorabilia. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Haiti Relief Programme through UAE’s Red Crescent.

Mohammad Abdullah Alhaj Al Zaroni, Manager of the Red Crescent, said, “We are grateful for the support from Dubai Sports City and its partners and their initiative for the people of Haiti.”

Balasubramaniam, CEO, Dubai Sports City, said: “Dubai Sports City is proud to be associated with UAE’s Red Crescent on this initiative to help the people of Haiti by donating all the proceeds from the event. We strongly encourage the UAE community to take part, and together we can make a real impact.”

Participating sponsors include Jumeirah Group, Emirates Airlines, The First Group, Sharp, Oakley, Golf Digest Middle East, Troon Golf, Callaway Golf, and The Els Club.
