The ordinary general meeting was held at the premises of the FA in Dubai on Saturday afternoon. The delegates approved the final accounts and the balance sheet for the year ended on December 31, 2009.
The meeting established that the UAEFA is the only legitimate umbrella for the game in the country and the only authorized party to communicate with the local and international bodies.
The meeting was presided over by Mohammed Khalfan Al Rumaithi, president of the UAEFA and attended by the representatives of the football clubs.
Al Rumaithi welcomed the delegates and urged them to discuss the issues on the agenda with the utmost freedom and transparency in order to achieve the ultimate goals of the general assembly.
He also underlined the importance of developing the work of the assembly through the exchange of views and providing proposals and initiatives to bridge the gap with the advanced world in the field.
Once again, Al Rumaithi thanked The President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, God preserves him, for his generous donation of Dh50 million to develop the amateurs clubs. And thanked His Highness Shaikh Saud bin Rashid Al Mualla, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Umm Al Quwain for his generous donation of a piece of land to construct the Takween Centre there onto for the purpose of looking after football talents.
Meanwhile, Al Rumaithi praised the hard work which is underway to prepare the national teams for the upcoming regional, international and Olympic commitments.
