The Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the 2018 Fifa Club World Cup on Sunday has launched its volunteer programme, which gives UAE residents the chance to play a key role in delivering one of the world's top club tournaments.

The programme, one of the UAE's biggest volunteering initiatives, will give over 1,000 volunteers the opportunity to be part of the global football showpiece event, which will take place across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain from December 12 to December 22, a press release said.
Registering for the programme will provide volunteers a unique opportunity to nurture their talents, learn new skills and be at the heart of this world-class event. The tournament will see six continental club champions and UAE host team Al Ain FC come together to battle for the crown of best club side on the planet.  The only qualification restriction: applicants must be over the age of 16.
With less than 100 days to go until the opening match of the tournament between Al Ain FC and New Zealand's Team Wellington FC at Al Ain's Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium, the LOC is calling on the country's best and brightest to join the club and take on some exciting roles.
"Volunteers are at the heart of the tournament and are key to the success of the event. The programme is a great opportunity for participants to develop their talents, learn new skills and play an important role in showcasing the UAE as a world-class host of major sporting events," said Aref Al Awani, Tournament Director of the LOC for the Fifa Club World Cup.

"The Volunteer Programme for the FIFA Club World Cup UAE 2017 was a great success and we hope to raise the bar for this year's tournament. We are proud to offer this opportunity to the young people of the UAE-a chance for them to meet new people and play a leading role in a world-class event while continuing their personal development. It is rewarding to see people so willing to help," said Mohammad Al Shatiri, head of the Volunteer Programme.

The volunteers who register for the program will be assigned a role in one of six areas: accreditation, competition, marketing, media, protocol and venue management.
The volunteer programme is now live on www.volunteers.ae and the tickets for the Fifa Club World Cup UAE 2018 are now available here.
