Dubai are one point ahead of Al Shaab and a win would have earned them the second spot reserved for the first division clubs in the pro-league. However, Dubai need to win on Thursday to rectify the situation.

In Sharjah, ten-man Al Shaab kept their hopes alive in the chase for the second spot with a 4-1 home victory against city rivals Al Khaleej. Al Shaab raised their tally to 21 points and need to win and see their rivals Dubai lose or draw their final clash to claim a line up in the pro-league. Kowasi Plaza opened the scoring in the 34th minute of the first half to make it 1-0 for Al Shaab. This was also the result at half-time.

Al Shaab were reduce to ten players when referee Mohammed Abdullah sent off keeper Ahmed Salem in the 55th minute.

Yousuf Hassan doubled the result in the 85th minute and Plaza added the third and fourth goals.
