MS Dhoni's cameo in vain as five-time champions dealt thrid loss but hold on to third place in the standings
Rio de Janeiro - Former Arsenal midfielder Denilson has announced he will leave Brazilian club Sao Paulo to join Al Wahda in the United Arab Emirates.
The 27-year-old will travel to Abu Dhabi on June 27 to undergo a medical, he said in a statement on Friday, Xinhua news agency reported.
“I have accepted the offer with a heavy heart because everybody knows about my passion for Sao Paulo,” he said.
He said further details about the move would be revealed at the end of the month.
Having started his career at Sao Paulo’s youth ranks, Denilson spent five seasons at Arsenal before returning in 2011.
He is the third player to leave the club in the past week following the departures of Rodrigo Caio (Valencia) and Paulo Miranda (Red Bull Salzburg).
