Beckham ready to leave clinic after operation
TURKU, Finland - The doctor who operated on David Beckham’s Achilles’ tendon says the England midfielder is ready to leave the clinic after Monday’s successful operation.
Orthopedic surgeon Sakari Orava says Beckham will have a checkup before his expected departure later Wednesday. Orava told Finnish broadcaster YLE that medical teams will also review a rehabilitation program for Beckham before he leaves.
Beckham was joined by his wife Victoria on Tuesday, who also spent the night at the clinic.
The 34-year-old former England midfielder torn his Achilles playing for AC Milan on Sunday. He will be sidelined for about six months and miss the World Cup in South Africa.
