Al Ain conclude pre-season training in Austria

ABU DHABI — UAE giants Al Ain Football Club concluded their pre-season training camp in Austria and will head back to the country on Monday evening.

Al Ain FC underwent 32 training sessions during the camp.

The team also played five friendly matches against different clubs from Austria, Germany, Romania and Cyprus.

Al Ain FC had blanked Austrian second division club Anif 3-0 in their first friendly game before being held 1-1 by another Austrian second division club Puch in their second friendly game. Al Ain FC went down to Furth 2-7 in their third friendly game.

Al Ain FC went down to second division Romanian club Concordia 1-3 in their fourth friendly game of the tour.

They concluded their pre-season training camp in Austria, going down to Paralimini of Cyprus 0-1 in the fifth friendly game.

Al Ain scored seven goals overall in the friendlies with their prolific Argentine forward Jose Sand scoring four goals.

Faisel Ali, Jumaa Saeed and Sufian Al Loudi scored one goal each. The team conceded 12 goals.

Mohamed Fayez, Fares Jumaa and Ismaiel Ahmed have recovered from their injuries and will participate in the friendly tournament during Ramadan. Meanwhile, Abdulla Mal Alla needs another 45 days to recover, while Salem Abdulla needs two months.

Waleed Salem and Sulttan Mussabah need a little over two months to make a comeback.

Al Ain will continue their preparations at the Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium on Thursday.
