She couldn't believe it when she received a call informing her about winning the lottery.
Angela Mortos, a Filipina nurse in the UAE, became the lucky winner of a Dh100,000 jackpot prize in a draw held during the Dubai Shopping Festival.
She won the jackpot after shopping for a total amount of Dh2,000 and spinning the wheel for the prize.
She couldn't believe it when she received a call informing her about winning the lottery. "I didn't believe that I had won at first as I was busy with my patients. When I realised they were serious, I was ecstatic."
Her first order of business, as told to Al Bayan, after winning the money, will be to help a sanitation worker at her workplace.
"He always says good morning to me every day. Although he doesn't speak English, he makes me feel happy."
She will also use some of the money to help reconstruct her parent's graves, who passed away 10 years ago.
