Hundreds of UAE nationals volunteered at the Formula One event, offering a range of services inside and outside Yas Marina Circuit including: transportation of VIPs, serving the public and providing them with information, as well as assisting journalists in the Media Centre. In doing so, these volunteers reflected the truly hospitable nature of the United Arab Emirates.

Commenting on the event, HE Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Chairman of Yas Marina Circuit, said: “On behalf of everyone involved in the organisation of the Grand Prix, I would like to thank the volunteers who have yet again made an incredible contribution to the event. They represent the true spirit of the UAE, and have delivered their duties with the utmost professionalism and pride.”

This year the Media Centre hosted more than 350 international and regional media representatives, and the Takatof volunteers were integral to the smooth running of the centre over the four-day event.

Matteo Bonciani, FIA Head of Communications, said on the volunteers’ efforts in the Media Centre: “I was very impressed by the high level of performance and professionalism that the volunteers showed, while performing their tasks in the Media Centre.

“I would like to take this opportunity to express our deep gratitude and appreciation to the volunteers and to Takatof for their support.”

Maytha Al Habsi, the Director of Takatof, said: “We are really pleased by the success of our participation in the race for the third consecutive year. Our volunteers were able to successfully execute all their responsibilities and served as good ambassadors of this great country. They have proved once again that they are capable of meeting the needs of such global events.”

She added: “I am glad to note that Takatof’s participation at the event was appreciated by officials, who have expressed their pride at the efforts made by UAE young people during the three-day event. The volunteers saw the event as a great opportunity to serve their country, while upholding the spirit of the UAE amongst guests and visitors who flew in from across the world.”
