Measuring just 5.8mm in thickness and weighing 163 grams, the S25 Edge aims to offer a combination of portability, durability, and high-end features

Samsung recently announced the Galaxy S25 Edge, a new addition to its flagship Galaxy S series, marking a bold move into the slim smartphone category. Measuring just 5.8mm in thickness and weighing 163 grams, the S25 Edge aims to offer a combination of portability, durability, and high-end features.
Built with a titanium frame and the latest Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic 2, the Galaxy S25 Edge is designed to be both lightweight and sturdy. Its slim profile and curved edges cater to users who prefer a more compact and comfortable smartphone, without sacrificing durability.

Despite its small size, the S25 Edge includes a 200MP main camera, maintaining the Galaxy S series’ focus on high-resolution photography. Samsung says the camera performs better in low-light conditions, with a reported 40 per cent improvement in brightness. There’s also a 12MP ultra-wide lens with autofocus, enabling macro photography and more creative flexibility.
The device includes AI-powered tools like Audio Eraser and Drawing Assist, designed to help users enhance their photos and videos with minimal effort. These features were first introduced with the main S25 series earlier this year.
The S25 Edge runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, the same processor used across the Galaxy S25 lineup. A redesigned cooling system helps manage heat despite the slim form factor, while Samsung’s AI image scaling engine, ProScaler, is said to boost display quality by up to 40 per cent.
Samsung is also expanding its Galaxy AI capabilities across the S25 Edge. Features like Now Brief and Now Bar integrate with third-party apps to provide real-time assistance for daily tasks. The device also supports Gemini Live, Google’s conversational AI tool, which now includes camera and screen sharing functionality.
On-device AI processing ensures that personal data stays protected via Samsung Knox Vault, the company’s security platform.
