In a move that feels like a straight-up personality fit, legacy homegrown perfumer Ajmal Dubai has brought on Bollywood star Ranveer Singh as its new brand ambassador, clearly signalling a more contemporary direction for the heritage fragrance house.
The partnership, which spans both India and the UAE, sees Singh lead Ajmal’s latest campaign titled ‘Your Unseen Power’, which is a concept that leans into the idea of scent as something deeply personal, almost invisible, yet powerful enough to shape perception.
For a brand rooted in 75 years of perfumery, the choice of Singh is deliberate. His larger-than-life energy, unapologetic individuality and constant reinvention mirror the shift Ajmal is making, from a legacy oud house to a global fragrance brand.
At the heart of the campaign are three key fragrances: Aristocrat, Aurum Summer and Wisal Layl, each mapping onto a different facet of Singh’s persona.
Aristocrat leans woody and structured with a touch of oud, evoking a sense of tradition with a modern twist. Aurum Summer moves into a fruitier space, with warm, vibrant notes, while Wisal Layl is designed for more intimate moments, with a deeper, more intense profile.
Speaking about the collaboration, Singh described scent as something that goes beyond the surface. For him, fragrances are made up of experiences — the tools that allow individuals to step into their own “unseen power”, a theme that also sits at the core of the campaign.
"The idea that fragrance is an extension of personality, that is something I connect with deeply. So, becoming the face of the brand felt like a natural fit,” said the actor. “The current campaign reflects that spirit through each of the new launches representing a different side of confidence, energy and intimacy.”
Ajmal’s leadership echoes a similar sentiment, addressing Singh not merely as a celebrity face, but as a creative collaborator who embodies the brand’s narrative.
"Ranveer Singh is more than just a face for Ajmal Dubai,” said Abdulla Ajmal, CEO of the fragrance house. “He is a collaborator who shares our vision for self-expression and creativity. We've always believed that the most powerful thing about a person is what cannot always be seen, and this campaign is our way of celebrating that unseen power. It brings together 75 years of perfumery expertise."
The rollout is expected to be high-impact, with the campaign spanning digital, retail and cinema experiences across markets, reflecting Ajmal’s growing ambition to strengthen its footprint beyond the region.
For UAE audiences, the association also reinforces the story of a homegrown fragrance house continuing to scale globally, while staying rooted in the cultural language of scent that the region understands all too well.
Ranveer Singh's global appeal
Beyond the screen, Singh has established himself as one of the country’s most compelling acting talents, defined by his ability to channel high-octane energy into a wide range of memorable, shape-shifting characters.
Since his debut in 2010, he has traversed a vast cinematic spectrum, from the raw intensity of Gully Boy to the regal gravitas of Bajirao Mastani, and more recently, blockbuster successes like Dhurandhar and its sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge.
Known for his maximalist fashion choices and unapologetic individuality, it’s no surprise that the actor has also become a sought-after collaborator for global brands looking to tap into his unique brand of self-expression.
Previously, Singh has also collaborated with regional brands, including Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, further strengthening his presence in the Middle East. And as he steps into this partnership with Ajmal Dubai, he continues to leverage both his “seen power” and the unseen, taking India to the world.
