Indian superstar Shah Rukh Khan was not stopped by the customs officials at Mumbai Airport as reported earlier. It was in fact his bodyguard who was stopped by the Air Intelligence Unit.

According to Mumbai Customs, officials of the Air Intelligence Unit stopped Ravi Singh, Khan's bodyguard for violating rules. He was released after filling customs duty.

The actor returned from Dubai on Friday night with his team. Shah Rukh Khan and his manager, Pooja Dadlani, had left the airport after arriving from Dubai. They were not detained by the customs officials.

"Bodyguard Ravi was coming home with the luggage, then he was stopped for checking at gate number 8. At the baggage checking point, the bodyguard was found with two luxurious watches and four empty watch boxes. Apart from this, there was also an empty box of an iWatch Series 8 in his luggage," the Mumbai Customs said.

Authorities imposed a payment of duty on all the boxes and customs officials asked Shah Rukh Khan to pay duty only, he agreed and paid the complete amount. He had to pay Rs683,000 (approximately Dh31,000) in customs. After customs duty was paid, they were all allowed to leave, said the customs.

Earlier, there were reports that Shah Rukh Khan was stopped at the Mumbai airport and questioned by customs. However, the customs said the Bollywood actor was not detained at all. He was just asked to fill the customs duty to which he and his team agreed.
