For anyone who was so terrified after watching the 1990 Anjelica Huston original that sleep was out of the question for at least a week, merely uttering this movie’s title: The Witches, should send a shiver down your spine. Who can forget Roald Dahl’s creepy yet thrilling book coming to life on screen with a mixture of Huston’s wonderfully cut-glass delivery and Jim Henson puppetry magic? This week the rebooted version comes to us with Anne Hathaway playing the iconic witch queen role and the major action – a young boy crashing a witches’ convention - transported from a British seaside hotel to a ‘60s American one. In all fairness it looks equally chilling for all the youngsters out there. Rotten Tomatoes gives it 52%

The Craft: Legacy is a follow-up to 1996’s much-praised teen horror The Craft, centering on four teenage witches leaning into their newfound powers in today’s society. Expect a nod to our thankfully more woke attitudes than the movie’s predecessor and a couple of social media jokes. Doesn’t look half bad. Rotten Tomatoes gives it 61%
