It was surprising that this meeting went under everyone's radar. Emirati media personality and one of the region's most famous podcast hosts, Anas Bukhash, met Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan recently.

The entrepreneur, who runs the popular podcast AB Talks, posted a photo of his meeting with Khan, who is a frequent visitor to Dubai, on Instagram.

The post, comprising a series of photographs and a video, had one photo of Bukhash posing for the lens with Khan at an undisclosed outdoor dinner site, presumably at a desert resort. The post also included a video of camels walking on the desert.

Bukash captioned the post "life cocktail".

Khan — whose recent movies Pathaan and Jawan rewrote records at the India box office — attended the Dubai Mall Global Fashion Awards on January 30, where he was honoured as the Global Style Icon, in recognition of his three-decade career in cinema and global box office footprint. Naturally, that moment set off a social media frenzy.

The evening was also remembered for a warm exchange between Khan, often referred to as the 'King of Bollywood', and Mohamed Alabbar, the founder of Emaar and the visionary behind iconic skyscrapers, such as Burj Khalifa.

Khan may be a frequent visitor to Dubai and own a house here, but the event marked a reminder of the deep bond the Bollywood superstar shares with the UAE.

Anas Bukhash, who is one half of the entrepreneurial Bukhash brothers, was one of the first persons in the region to recognise the potential of social media, setting up an influencer marketing agency in 2014. His podcast, AB Talks, is wildly popular and features leading celebrities, entrepreneurs, sportspersons, among others. The podcast aims to showcase the "raw" side of public figures as human beings.

Popular figures who have featured in the podcast include Netflix co-founder Marc Randolph; Lebanese singer and TV personality Nancy Ajram; the pioneer behind the Dubai chocolate Sara Hamouda; and fashion designer Elie Saab.

In September last year, Bukhash shared a social media post of his car catching fire while it was parked in Dubai. He praised the Dubai Police for their swift action after the incident.
