Dubai theatre lovers are in for a delightful treat this month as Surajmukhi aur Hamlet, a laugh-out-loud domestic comedy, takes the stage at The Junction, Alserkal Avenue.
The play will be performed on February 21 and 22, with shows at 8pm on both evenings, and an additional matinee performance at 3pm on February 22.
Inspired by French playwright Jean Anouilh’s Episode in the Life of an Author, and adapted into Hindi by Ranjit Kapoor, Surajmukhi aur Hamlet invites audiences into the wonderfully chaotic world of a writer’s home. As the writer attempts to finish his story, he is constantly derailed by interruptions, eccentric characters, and a household that spirals into comic disorder.
The production is directed by acclaimed theatre-maker Shekhar Kanwat, an alumnus of India's National School of Drama, whose 11 years of experience brings freshness and rhythm to this stage adaptation.
The staging of Surajmukhi aur Hamlet is supported by sponsors TLM Logistics, Danube Group, healthcare partner Prime Health, Total Comfort, and Luxe Hotels, with Khaleej Times as the official media partner.
With its sharp humour, lively storytelling, and relatable domestic chaos, Surajmukhi aur Hamlet promises an evening of pure theatrical fun for Dubai audiences.
Tickets can be booked online at Platinumlist.
