Indian actress-model Harshil Kalia dies in road accident in Jaipur

Actress and model Harshil Kalia, known primarily for her work in Rajasthani films and television shows, has died in a road accident, according to Indian media. She was 30.
The actress was returning home in her car at around 11.30 pm on Monday in Jaipur, in the north-western Indian state of Rajasthan. The car crashed into a divider, causing it to overturn, NDTV reported. As a result, it flipped to its left side, according to CCTV footage from the area.
Residents who woke up startled after hearing the impact of the mishap rushed to the spot, helped turn the car upright and rushed Kalia to a nearby private hospital, The Times of India reported, where doctors declared her brought dead owing to her severe head injuries.
Police are conducting an investigation into other possible causes of the mishap, according to the publication. They're examining whether the mishap was due to overspeeding by Kalia's car, mechanical failure or if another vehicle was involved in the mishap.
A post-mortem was conducted and Kalia's body was handed over to her family, the newspaper reported.
Kalia, known for her work as a model and, prominently, her role in the web series Crime Next Door—which also starred actors such as Anupriya Goenka, Ravi Sah, Sahil Vaid and Vatsal Sheth. She had also worked as a television news anchor and featured in multiple Rajasthani song videos.
The actress had trained in the Indian classical dance form of Kathak and was a known face in the state's pageant circuit. She finished as the first runner up at Miss Diva Rajasthan 2021 and Miss Pink City, The Times of India reported.
