'GTA 6' could let you play the entire story with a friend
New rumours suggest the highly-anticipated Rockstar game, releasing in November 2026, may feature a fully playable co-op story mode

Grand Theft Auto VI is already shaping up to be one of the biggest entertainment launches of the decade, but a new rumour suggests it could go even further by introducing something fans have been asking for years: a fully playable co-op story mode.
According to claims circulating on X, Rockstar’s upcoming blockbuster may allow players to experience the entire campaign alongside a friend; a first for the series.

If the rumours hold true, GTA 6 won’t just feature its dual protagonists — Jason and Lucia — as part of a narrative device, but as a fully integrated co-op experience.
It means that you and your friend, or anybody else, could take on the roles of Jason and Lucia simultaneously, playing the entire campaign from start to finish in co-op. It could also mean that missions and open-world exploration may be designed with multiplayer in mind, and not just for GTA Online.

The scale of GTA 6 is also reflected in its reported budget. Multiple sources claim the game’s total cost has now exceeded $3 billion, up from earlier estimates of $2 billion.
If accurate, this would make it the most expensive video game ever created.
What about pricing in the UAE?
With rising development costs and industry-wide price hikes, GTA 6 is also expected to come with a premium price tag.
Early speculation suggests that Standard Edition could exceed Dh350 in the UAE and special editions may push significantly higher.
For UAE gamers, that places GTA 6 firmly in the “premium release” category, especially with rising console prices.
As exciting as a full co-op campaign sounds, it’s important to treat these reports with caution. Rockstar has yet to confirm any co-op story mode features officially. However, given the studio’s track record and the long development cycle, expectations are understandably sky-high.
GTA 6 is set to release on November 19, 2026.
