Dubai’s independent music scene kicked off 2026 in style as The Fridge unveiled a trio of standout January concerts at The Fridge Warehouse, Alserkal Avenue. With one show already drawing a packed crowd, the remaining performances promise to close the month on a high.

Scander X, Blue Saif & MO Sedki set the tone

The Fridge Concert Series Season 48 opened with a high-energy hip-hop showcase headlined by Alexandria-based rapper Scander X, whose cinematic blend of Afro beats, trap and poetic rap made for a magnetic live performance. His 2024 comeback single Dalida had already generated major regional buzz, and the live show confirmed his status as one of the scene’s most compelling voices.

Support came from Blue Saif, delivering raw, street-level storytelling rooted in Cairo’s hip-hop culture, and MO Sedki, an artist who effortlessly moves between R&B, Afro, hip-hop, house and trap sha3by, treating music as pure emotional expression. The event was sponsored by Lee Cooper at Shoemart.

Prince VA brings his first full live quartet – January 27

The series continues on Tuesday, January 27, with Prince VA performing his first-ever full live quartet set at The Fridge Warehouse. Known for evolving from hip-hop into experimental R&B, Prince VA’s sound shifts between euphoric highs and slow-burning atmospheric intensity—an experience amplified by a full live band.

Supporting the night is Theo Thomson, whose smooth R&B and Afro-influenced sound, soulful vocals and dynamic stage presence are known for making even a packed warehouse feel intimate. The show is also sponsored by Lee Cooper at Shoemart.
