The first teaser trailer for Dhurandhar 2 is finally out, and it promises a darker, more violent chapter in the blockbuster franchise. Ranveer Singh unveiled the teaser at exactly 12.12am IST on Tuesday, a day after teasing fans on social media. Ahead of the drop, a striking new poster was also released, showing Singh’s character Hamza drenched in blood and rain.

The teaser hints that Dhurandhar 2 will delve into Hamza’s past, exploring his life before he became a spy. Packed with action and heightened gore, the brief clip signals that director Aditya Dhar is turning up the intensity for the sequel.

However, the majority of the minute-long teaser doesn't feature any unseen clips. The sequence is the same as the one showed in the end of Dhurandhar. The teaser also features glimpses of R Madhavan and Sanjay Dutt's characters, but nothing new. Akshaye Khanna's fan-favourite character, Rehman Dakait, wasn't featured, due to obvious reasons — Dhurandhar ends with his death.

The teaser launch comes just days after the first Dhurandhar began streaming on Netflix in the UAE. Despite not having a cinematic release in the UAE, the film had a historic theatrical run, earning over Rs10 billion worldwide and becoming the highest-grossing single-language Hindi film in India. Dhar described the digital release as a “new chapter” after the movie spent more than a month in cinemas.

Starring Ranveer Singh alongside Akshaye Khanna, R Madhavan, Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun, Dhurandhar is available on Netflix in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.

Part One's runtime stands at 214 minutes, which is over three hours long. The sequel is expected to have a similar runtime.

Dhurandhar 2 is set to hit Indian cinemas on March 19.
