Hollywood's biggest night had no shortage of glitz and glam to offer, but a moment that pleasantly surprised the Internet at the 98th Academy Awards was when Anne Hathaway and Anna Wintour took the stage at the Dolby Theatre.
In a playful nod to the high-stakes, high-fashion world of The Devil Wears Prada, the duo recreated the legendary boss-assistant dynamic that captivated audiences two decades ago.

The viral moment
Stepping out to present the awards for Achievement in Costume Design and Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling, Hathaway and Wintour leaned into the nostalgia of the 2006 classic.
The crowd roared as Wintour – the real-life inspiration for Meryl Streep's iconic portrayal of Miranda Priestly – delivered a classic, dry-witted line, seemingly calling Hathaway "Emily" before proceeding to critique the "lack of cerulean" in the room.
Hathaway, looking stunning in a black floral gown with dramatic gloves, played the perfect foil, keeping the banter fun and endearing.
Building hype for the sequel
While the segment was lighthearted, it also played on the massive anticipation surrounding the upcoming theatrical release of The Devil Wears Prada 2, set to hit cinemas later this year on May 1.
The sequel promises to bring back the original powerhouse cast, including: Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton and Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling.

Joining the cast are heavyweights including Kenneth Branagh, Lucy Liu and Justin Theroux, ensuring that the sequel will be one of the most-watched films of the spring.
So, as eager fans continue to analyse every frame of the recently released trailer, the wait to see Miranda Priestly and her crew back in action continues as the runway, it seems, is very much still in session.
