No ropes: Alex Honnold postpones 'free solo' climb up Taipei 101 to be livestreamed on Netflix

Alex Honnold, a legendary climber, will be rescheduling the livestream of one of his most epic climbs yet due to bad weather, the adventurer and Netflix said on Saturday.
Honnold intends to scale Taipei 101, one of the tallest buildings in the world that stands tall at 508m, with no ropes — a free solo climb.

In an announcement on social media, Netflix said that "safety remains our top priority". The ascent has now been scheduled to take place on Sunday, at 5am UAE time.
Forecasters have predicted rainy weather in Taipei for the next 24 hours. Honnold said, "Sadly, it’s raining in Taipei right now so I don’t get to go climbing today." He said that he was "really touched" by all the support and well wishes he received from everyone.
Honnold is known for his ropeless climb up Yosemite National Park's El Capitan, as seen in his documentary 'Free Solo'.
Earlier, Netflix analysed his scheduled climb, talking about how his three-stage ascent will pose many concerns.
First of which are the slabs of sloped steel and glass, with structures called 'Ruyi' (which is a curved ornamental objext symbolising good fortune) interspersed across his climb. After this, he will encounter the eight bamboo 'boxes' and then climb to the very top — a spire with a terrifying drop.
