Akshay Kumar's convoy involved in freak accident in Mumbai
Autorickshaw collides with an SUV belonging to the Bollywood actor couple late on Monday; no casualties have been reported

A convoy of vehicles in which the Bollywood star-couple Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna were travelling met with a traffic accident in Mumbai late on Monday.
The couple, however, is out of danger. The incident is said to have occurred when they returned to India after a trip abroad and were travelling back home from the airport.

A Mercedes car collided into an autorickshaw late on Monday in the Juhu area of the metropolis, according to India Today. The impact forced the autorickshaw to crash into a Toyota Innova SUV belonging to the duo.
Mumbai Police arrived at the spot soon and began an investigation. The auto driver and a passenger were rushed to hospital and no casualties have been reported. The Juhu police have registered a case of rash and negligent driving against the driver of the Mercedes vehicle, according to the Press Trust of India.
The vehicles in question have been damaged severely, with videos of the incident turning wildly popular on social media. Passers-by were seen helping the damaged vehicles.
Kumar, who was with his wife in a different vehicle at the time of the incident, is yet to issue a statement. Like many leading Bollywood stars, Kumar moves around with a security team.
According to WION, the police's initial findings suggest that the speeding Mercedes rammed into an autorickshaw from behind, leading to it spiralling out of control and crashing into the actor couple's security entourage.

Kumar and Khanna celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary on January 17, with both posting on social media to mark the occasion. Khanna posted a video of the two paragliding at an undisclosed occasion.
Kumar, however, opted for a post that was a hat-tip to his wife's sense of humour.
Kumar has a busy 2026 ahead of him, with projects, such as Welcome 3, Haiwaan, Hera Pheri 3 and Bhoot Bangla. The actor recently shared a teaser of Welcome 3, offering a glimpse into its star-studded cast.
