Colonel Turki bin Faris, Director, Command & Control Centre at the General Department of Operations, Dubai Police, said that no serious accidents were reported on Monday even though dense fog blanketed Dubai since overnight.

He said the authorities in Dubai and the neighbouring emirates such as Sharjah and Abu Dhabi activated the fog traffic system, and ensure no serious accidents took place.

Brigadier Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director-General, Dubai Police's Traffic Department, has urged motorists to drive with caution during inclement weather conditions. He emphasised the importance of reducing driving speed and abide by traffic laws.

Dubai Police have urged road users to exercise caution, adhere to safety rules, and to reduce driving speed during foggy weather conditions.

Al Mazrouei said accidents occur due to low visibility. "Check your planned route and set aside more travel time. Commuters must wait till visibility improves,” he added.
