IAT students complete summer internship abroad

Nearly 292 UAE male and female students from Institute of Applied Technology’s Applied Technology High Schools have completed a summer internship programme in major international industrial establishments in USA, France, South Korea, Japan, Germany, Ireland, Canada, Scotland.

The training programme encompassed various fields of engineering, technology, space, aviation, nuclear energy and more. The delegation included, for the first time, 48 female students (Grade 9) of advanced science.

Dr. Abdullatif Al Shamsi, Managing Director, Institute of Applied Technology (IAT), said the overseas internship programmes had seen marked increase in number of engaged students this year: 160% over 2011.

He said: “ This program offers golden opportunities to ATHS students to gain the latest international field experiences in the various fields of technology and engineering, and in particular, the nuclear energy, aviation, space and other scientific fields that are characterized by the aforementioned countries.”
