An official statement from the Taaleem group of schools said the discounts on term three fees were announced in response to the urgent needs of their parents suffering severe hardships and to provide immediate relief.
Term three fees will be discounted across the entire Taaleem portfolio of schools in both Dubai and Abu Dhabi, said Alan Williamson, CEO of Taaleem.
"Taaleem has taken time to consult with their school community resulting in a support package which ensures that the most impactful measures are being taken to support their families," he said. The breakdown of the discounts offered are - 25 per cent in foundation and kindergarten, 20 per cent in primary and elementary Schools and, 20 per cent in secondary schools.
Taaleem is also making provision for reduced Schools Fees for next academic year and a waiver on application fees and payment plans for deposits for next academic year.
"Taaleem has pledged to retain their outstanding teachers and provide unequivocal support for their staff until normal operations are resumed," said Khalid Al Tayer, Chairman of Taaleem.
He added, "The quality of our schools is built upon the quality of our teachers. Their efforts, inspiration, dedication and professionalism are the qualities that positively separate our schools from others in a crowded and competitive market."
Williamson added, "We have consulted widely with our community and taken time to decide best how to do the right thing for all our parents. We believe that as a home-grown company, providing relief for all was morally the right thing to do. Parents should be reassured that when normal schooling resumes, all our schools will be incredibly well prepared, fully staffed and resourced with our existing inspired and passionate staff."
