The UAE's biggest challenger is itself and it will never stop bettering its own records and its own achievements

In adversity does one conquer because that is when one's mettle comes to the fore. The UAE takes the winner's podium in 121 global indicators and in the regional tops 479 assessments across the board. These achievements were made in the last nine months of 2020, even as it combats a viral crisis. And if that is not enough tangible achievement in itself, the country also appears in the top ten in 314 global indicators. Why are we not surprised? Elated, yes, but not surprised. This acceptance of the obvious is because the work ethos has always been bedrocked in the pursuit of excellence. Nothing is done by half-hearted measure and the effort is always predicated to a simple thought: if you do it, do it well. 
It is not just the accomplishment of a challenge that has given this country such an enviable track record but also its pioneering spirit in moving the envelope to far reaches of the table. In fact, the best way to capsule this intent is to say that in the UAE there is no greater pleasure or satisfaction than doing what people say you cannot do. This commitment percolates from the top to lower echelons and that desire to promote efficiency, output, and result then becomes a national mindset. It does not happen by command but by demonstration. A nation where the leaders show the way by doing and not just saying is a nation that is truly blessed. This approach is further heightened by the message that the UAE's biggest challenger is itself and it will never stop bettering its own records and its own achievements.
